From family gatherings to flu shots and more, this time of year heightens our stress – here are some ways you can support your community (and yourself) in reducing stress and building resilience.

| View in browser 3 Ways to Reduce Seasonal Stressors This time of year, sometimes even taking a big deep breath can feel overwhelming.   Family gatherings. Holiday office and school closures. Flu shots and COVID boosters. End-of-year deliverables. Post-election exhaustion. If you’ve been feeling extra stressed lately: you’re not alone.   Your patients, coworkers, students, supervisors, and loved ones are more than likely also feeling the push and pull of this season. Here at ETR, we are asking ourselves: how can we change this experience for ourselves and our communities? What resources can help us feel resilient during these challenging seasons?   Strategies for maintaining wellness and mitigating seasonal stress don’t have to be time-consuming or expensive in order to be successful. This week, we’re sharing resources to help you and your community find balance while navigating all these ups and downs.   From intentional social media use to mindfulness exercises, here are some recommendations to support your wellness these next few weeks!   — The ETR Team       To Delete or Retweet: Social Media and Emotional Health When it comes to social media and mental health, it’s common to first think about the negative link between the two. However, social media can also provide a great benefit to adolescents and young adults. So how can we as health professionals, educators, parents, or guardians help leverage the positive aspects of social media and online technology?   This free educational video from ETR walks through 10 examples of how social media and online games can have both a positive and a negative impact on a young person’s emotional health. Designed with and for LGBTQ+ teens, imi (pronounced eye-me) is a free, digital, mental health tool that supports and affirms teens with diverse and intersectional identities.    imi responds to the need for safe, accessible, and research-backed support for LGBTQ+ teens and breaks down important topics like stress, LGBTQ+ identity, internalized stigma, and gender identity and expression through interactive resources, stories, and activities.        Free Video: Mindful Movement Exercise Watch Exercise Mindfulness and movement exercises can be an easy and accessible way to connect with our minds and bodies, relieve stress, and maintain emotional wellness.
