Red Ribbon Week is an annual awareness event dedicated to inspiring individuals to play their part in fostering safe, healthy, and drug-free communities.
For decades, ETR has worked extensively to create resources, services, and evidence-based programs that provide youth with the skills to avoid drug use, resist social pressures, and evaluate unsafe usage.
Our work in alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD) supports the health and well-being of youth and communities across the country, and we’re proud to have our resources utilized during Red Ribbon Week and beyond.
It’s important to reach young people where they are with substance use prevention resources in this digital age. Check out this webinar co-hosted by young people from Youth to Youth!
In this 30-minute conversation, youth guest experts will share three concrete tips to support your work. The content shared in this webinar will be useful to educators, healthcare staff, community organizers, and other youth-serving professionals.

Learn More: Prescription Drug Misuse Among Adolescents
Prescription drug misuse is a growing public health concern, especially among adolescents. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Youth Risk Behavior Survey, over 12% of high school students surveyed in the United States have taken prescription pain medication without a doctor’s prescription or taken it differently than its intended use.
Teens and young adults may misuse prescription drugs for many reasons, including exposure to trauma, to feel good or get high, reduce appetite, improve concentration, or to feel accepted by peers.

Call for Research: Teen Pregnancy Prevention Evidence Review
Research is an important component in developing evidence-based, science-informed solutions to advance health equity. The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Evidence Review (sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services) is seeking studies to include in an upcoming systematic review of the evidence base on programs or program components that impact teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV, and associated sexual risk behaviors.
