Black representation and voices in public health are essential in advancing health outcomes for African-Americans. Historical trauma and misinformation around healthcare has hindered many African-Americans from seeking and understanding important information regarding sexual health and resources.
The Black Public Health Influencer Design Fellowship (B-PHI) provides an opportunity for Black-led voices to educate and advocate sexual health information to the public, utilizing social media as a tool to disseminate information to a wide audience.
Apply to be a B-PHI Design Fellow and participate in trainings within various public health content areas, human-centered design, and social media advocacy. As a B-PHI Fellow, you will develop a marketing and communications strategy focusing on a sexual and reproductive health topic of your choice!
The B-PHI Fellowship will support you with materials, funds, and mentorship. In addition, each fellow will be eligible to earn $7,000 and have access to funds for tools, materials, and software to support their media strategies.
In Spring 2023, Fellows will showcase their projects at our annual B-PHI retreat before a panel of judges. Winning fellows will be offered a paid opportunity to continue collaborating with ETR for Summer 2023.
B-PHI is a ViiV Healthcare-funded project by ETR that seeks to collaborate with HBCU students to develop and implement public health strategies via social media, with the goal of educating and empowering communities.
