The Black Public Health Influencer Fellowship (B-PHI) is a ViiV Healthcare-funded project of ETR that seeks to empower Black students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to educate, advocate, and provide sexual health and wellness information to the public through social media campaigns.
As a B-PHI Fellow, participants will get the opportunity to engage in trainings within various public health content areas, human-centered design, and social media advocacy. Fellows will also each develop their own marketing and communications strategy focusing on a sexual and reproductive health topic of their choice!
The B-PHI Fellowship will support fellows with materials, funds, and mentorship. In addition, each fellow will be eligible to earn up to $7,000 and have access to funds for tools, materials, and software to support their media strategies.
A key component of the fellowship includes supporting B-PHI fellows with mentors. Through ongoing guidance and thought partnership, mentors help fellows refine their science-based messaging, build leadership skills, and navigate the process of becoming trusted public health professionals.
Fellows will showcase their projects at our annual B-PHI retreat before a panel of influential public health professionals. At the conclusion of the project, two fellows will be offered a paid opportunity to continue collaborating with ETR.
